Garden party celebrates Durham University's excellence

Durham University celebrated its excellence as a world-leading university and its important links with key partners at the annual Vice-Chancellor's Garden Party.

Professor Chris Higgins and Jenifer White hosted 250 guests at Hollingside House, Durham, to recognise the universitys special relationship with students, alumni, staff and stakeholders, and the cultural and economic benefits this brings regionally, nationally and
Guests included Jeremy Beeton, Director General of the Government Olympic Executive; Dame Rosemary Cramp, Durhams first female archaeology professor; and The Very Reverend Michael Sadgrove, Dean of Durham.
Students from Butler Jazz Band, Durham University Light Opera Group and Durham University Small Big Band provided entertainment.
The event took place during Congregation, which recognises the success of the graduates.
