The region's top amateur photographers showcase their work

Most of the summer season attractions are now open across the North East so there is an abundance of venues to visit during the months ahead.

One of the challenges for photographers is to find a new interpretation of a very familiar subject, so come on all you creative snappers, send in some refreshingly new angles on our iconic locations.

It couldnt be easier to submit your photographs for our consideration. Send them o a disk as jpegs or tiffs at 300 dpi. Ideally, files should be between 1mg and 2mg in size.
Mark the disk NEL Reader Photos and write on the disk your name, town or village and contact phone number.

Include a Word document on the disk, giving your name, full postal address, contact phone number, email address (if available) and captions stating the location of the photographs you are submitting.

The promotion is only open to amateur photographers. Each photograph must have been taken by the entrant and must be an image from within the counties of Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham and Cleveland. Pictures selected for publication will be chosen by co-editors Sue Campbell and Andrew Smith. Entry will recognise our right to publish the pictures in North East Life at a date or dates to be decided by the co-editors. We also reserve the right to use photographs for North East Life promotional features. The name of the photographer will be credited on all published pictures.

Send your entry to Reader Photos, North East Life, PO Box 199, Hexham, Northumberland NE46 9AG.

*Please make sure your images are copies - we cannot undertake to return discs of pictures.
