The Morritt Country House Hotel doesn't just do weddings, it does fabulous weddings.
And you dont have to take their word for it. It has dozens of testimonials from delighted clients, who found that the service and attention to detail at this beautiful Dickensian venue far outweighed their expectations.
Memories have been made here since 1637, and although the building may be centuries old and retains old world charm and tradition, it is a thoroughly modern organisation with a top class and regionally renowned wedding team.
Owner of the Morritt and highly experienced wedding planner, Barbara
Johnson, says couples have to have confidence in the venue of their choice.
People have to trust that they are not seen as just another wedding. They have to believe that their wedding is special and we work hard to let them know that all our attention is on them on their day.
Its why we never have two weddings on the same day, unlike other venues, and why our commitment to them is so important.
The Morritt also has an unparalleled reputation for value for money.
We know that not everyone has many thousands of pounds to spend, says Barbara. So we tailor our service to their individual budget and needs. We dont do packages, we do individual weddings.
And although tradition plays a big part in the Morritts make-up and the majority of weddings are traditional, the team are happy to add whatever personal touches a couple want to make it extra special.
The Morritt was the first venue in County Durham to be licensed for civil
weddings and has five beautiful rooms for a ceremony the smallest room holding 16 and the largest 200.
And the Morritts wedding service starts as soon as you book with them.
Every assistance is given to ensure that whatever service youre seeking from cars to cakes is catered for.
And brides, mums and friends are invited to one of the Morritts wellknown Ask The Experts lunches.
The next lunches are on September 24th and November 19th when they
can meet a photographer, videographer, florist, hair and beauty practitioner, Barbara, the Morritts own wedding expert, and more.
The Morritt has been host to thousands of visitors over the centuries
and its beautiful setting at Greta Bridge has been the backdrop to the marriages more than a thousand happy couples who treasure the day they chose it for their wedding.
Barbara said: We are committed to making the day as special as it can be for each couple as they make their promises to each other and thats our promise.
