Amanda Baker Soft Furnishings recently celebrated their 10th year in business with an open day and party for customers past and present.

Amanda Baker Soft Furnishings recently celebrated their 10th year in business with an open day and party for customers past and present.

The business, which started trading in October 2002 with support from The Prince's Trust and was a North East regional finalist in Shell Live Wires Young Entrepreneur awards in 2004, provides professionally crafted, made-to-measure curtains and soft furnishings for the home and workplace. It opened up its workrooms and invited customers past and present - including the very first customer from 10 years ago - to celebrate in its success.

Customers enjoyed a glass of wine and shared stories of the work Amanda Baker Soft Furnishings had carried out for them, and how they'd seen the business grow from strength to strength over the years. Business owner Amanda Baker said "It was lovely to get together with some of the people that have helped my business develop over ten years, and let them meet each other in such a nice atmosphere".

Offering beautiful, exquisitely-made curtains, Roman blinds, pelmets, cushions and much more, Amanda Baker Soft Furnishings can provide a wide range of fabrics, trimmings curtain poles & tracks to order, or customers can provide their own, to compliment any room in the home/workplace. Customers can also choose from a huge selection of wallpapers to make every room look special.

The celebrations to mark 10 successful years were held in conjunction with Cycle Cuba 2013, the charity that Amanda Baker Soft Furnishings and their customers have been supporting for the past 12 months. Amanda's daughter Debra is taking part in a 400km cycle for this
charity, which raises funds for three women's cancer organisations. The charity is
one very close to Amanda, who is happy to report that all of her customers have been generous in their interest and support.

Amanda said "I just want to say a very big thank you to all of my customers and friends for not only allowing me make their homes more beautiful, but for also supporting the charity so well over the past year.
