Tenacity is paramount, says Andrew Brown, who has worked with leading names in the exacting food industry. The Edinburgh-born chef started out 15 years ago and was the first person to win a Raymond Blanc scholarship. He trained and worked with Raymond at Le Manoir aux Quat-Saisons for three years and helped him establish Le Petit Blanc.
In February, Andrew opened Browns Caf and Grill in Grange Road, Darlington, after 11
years running the County in Aycliffe Village.
Andrew lives in Aycliffe Village with his wife, Deborah, and three children Angus 17, Alice 14 and Hamish 12.
He said: Working in hospitality and catering is tough business especially in the current climate but its also very rewarding and satisfying to see people enjoying your food and appreciating your ideas. You really must have real determination to succeed, a good eye for detail and the desire to always be the best. Tenacity is paramount.
