More than 100 guests were welcomed to the Scotswood Suite at the Centre for Life by a formal string quartet, for a first class dining experience to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.

The dinner and champagne reception was designed to cover the two hour, 40 minutes from the iceberg collision to the actual sinking and was narrated by Noel Jackson, the head of education at the centre. He gave an insight into the Edwardian period and the lives of the people involved in the construction of the ship and those on board and guests enjoyed authentic dishes served on the night of the sinking recreated by chef Colin Bowden with their accompanying wines.
