About 130 people attended the launch of The Stables at Sedbury Hall, a new venue space near Scotch Corner in South Durham.

Situated in a magnificent setting of parkland with glorious views across the Yorkshire Dales, The Stables, a listed Georgian building designed by John Carr, has been converted into an impressive space for staging events.

The venue has been designed with flexibility in mind and fitted with state of the art appliances, allowing clients to host anything from corporate activity days and conferences to cookery demonstrations and art exhibitions.

Clare-Marie Baker Baker, of Sedbury Hall, said: This is the start of what we hope will be a
very exciting business venture.

We wanted to create a venue unlike any other, and the grand history and unique nature of The Stables really sets it apart, offering a memorable event space to hire.
