North East Life partnered up with a new local committee of The Prince's Trust for a night to remember to raise money for the Trust's work in the area

Hundreds of people raised thousands of pounds at the Red Hot Summer Ball at the Thistle Hotel Middlesbrough.

The Ball was a fund raiser in aid of The Princes Trust Charity, which helps disadvantaged young people between the ages of 14 to 30. This was the first event organised by a new local committee including Alan Whiteley, Thistle Hotels, Claire Walton, Strategic Change Solutions, Karen Shields, Middlesbrough Council, Tamsin Essex, Kall Kwik, Linsey Wood, Cash for Kids, Clare Boston Smith, Visit Tees valley, Martin Peagram Middlesbrough College and Rory Button, North East Life.

The evening was enjoyed by everyone, with excellent food and service from Thistle hotel staff and many great raffle prizes including, a weekend stay at Thistle Hotels, hair care Vouchers at Full Circle and Twelve Central and Metro Arena tickets from TFM radio. There were wonderful auction prizes such as tickets in the directors box at Middlesbrough Football club and a Spa weekend at Seaham Hall and Rockliffe Hall hotels.

Stars of the evening were The Red Hot Chilli Pipers who brought the house down with their unique fusion of bagpipes and drums and men in kilts.

David Beavis, Princes Trust spoke of the important work of the charity and promised that the money raised would benefit young people locally.

Several local companies felt compelled to support the event with sponsorship. Sponsors were Thistle hotels, Strategic Change Solutions management consultancy, Cash for Kids, Visit Tees Valley, Middlesbrough College, our own North East Life, Flowerhouse, ipnconnect, Take the Lead Advertising, and Kall Kwik business design and print.

The Summer Ball was such a success that the committee have already started organising another event, the Jingle Bell Ball on December 16th. Once again this will be at Thistle Middlesbrough. To book contact the Thistle event team on 01642 333113.
