Eighteen students from Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form in Darlington will travel to Botswana this summer where they will help the local communities create sustainable vegetable patches, and build traditional homes for AIDS orphans.

Eighteen students from Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form in Darlington will travel to Botswana this summer where they will help the local communities create sustainable vegetable patches, and build traditional homes for AIDS orphans.

While they are in Botswana the students will also paddle the Okavango Delta and learn to survive in the desert with the Kalahari Bushmen.


The group have been busy raising funds through various activities including a ball at Headlam Hall Hotel, where guests enjoyed a four course meal and entertainment was provided by African drummers, which raised 5,000.
