The historic HMS Trincomalee became a catwalk for a special fashion show which threw the spotlight on four up-and-coming designers and gave people interested in the fashion industry experience of life behind the scenes.

Models wore designs created by York-based Isabel Wong, Kate Fearnley from Middlesbrough, Nottinghams Callecia J Brown and Velsvoir of London and lingerie by Cleveland College of Art and Design student Emma Appleton was also on show.

Make-up was led by Sarah Stonehouse of FACE Make-up Artistry based in Newcastle, and hair styling was by Stephanie Louise from Coulby Newham near Middlesbrough.

HMS Trincomalee, which is berthed at Hartlepool, is the oldest British warship afloat and general manager David McKnight said: This was a new venture and we were very pleased with how it went. The combination of an historic location and fashion not yet in the high street produced something with a wow factor.
