Countryfile's Adam Henson on why he's taking part in the Great North Run

During my late nephew Bens fight against cancer he became blind. My sister Rebecca and her husband, Nick, soon found that there was very little support for blind or partially sighted children in the North East.

Following Bens death they set up the charity Useful Vision which now helps many families with visually impaired children to enjoy activities, events and learning.

Youve got it. Im calling upon your good nature to support this charity that is very worthwhile and close to my heart.

My partner, Charlie and I, other members of the family and friends are taking part in the Great North Run to help raise funds.
