The region's top amateur photographers showcase their work

Anybody with a garden in the North East will vouch for the fact that the past harsh winter left some casualties in its wake, as evidenced by the damage to plants. Your pictures of the big freeze are still coming in but we particularly like the one displayed in this issue of the duck in the snow.

Theres also plenty to stimulate our anticipation of the warm summer days to come, so thanks once again to all readers who submit pictures for the Readers Photos section of the website.

Well be dipping into our online archives every month to bring you a selection of the stunning pictures and to allow the talented amateur photographers in the North East to take a well-deserved bow in print.

We are most interested in pictures from within the counties of Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham and Cleveland. Readers whose pictures are selected will be asked to recognise our right to publish the pictures in North East Life at a date or dates to be decided by the co-editors. We also reserve the right to use photographs for North East Life promotional features. The name of the photographer will be credited on all published pictures.

To submit your pictures to North East Life, please go to www.northeast.greatbritishlife.co.uk, register your name, if you havent already done so, and follow the guidance under the Reader Photos tab to upload your pictures.
