Ladies in Beef is a new organisation of female beef farmers who care passionately about British beef. They're launching the inaugural British Beef Week this April
Ladies in Beef was formed to help promote and drive awareness of the quality and versatility of British beef to consumers using a country-wide network of dynamic lady beef champions. All the ladies are British beef farmers and proud of it.
The Princess Royal, Master of the Worshipful Company of Butchers, joined co-founders, Minette Batters and Jilly Greed to officially launch the organisation at a special event in London on March 14.
The launch heralded the announcement of the inaugural Great British Beef Week on April 23 to 30. The annual event has been timed to take place around St Georges Day and with the Royal Wedding also taking place on April 29, the Week is perfectly timed to create positive support for British beef.
Minette Batters, said: We genuinely believe that lady beef farmers will have a real appeal for the mainstream media. We hope to be able to generate positive publicity for British beef, especially with regard to its quality, versatility and as part of a balanced diet, its excellent nutritional and health benefits.
Ladies in Beef are looking for their first member in the North East. If youre a lady beef farmer, get in touch with Minette and Jilly by going to www.ladiesinbeef.org.uk
