Kristy Giblin from North East-based company Simply Bows and Chair Covers is hosting her own Big Chocolate Tea Party in Newcastle on April 8 in aid of the Sick Childrens Trust.

The Big Chocolate Tea Party encourages people to get together with friends, family or work colleagues, over a cuppa and your favourite chocolate treat to help raise money for the Trust.

Kristy said: We are hosting our party at 10.30am on at the City Executives Centre, Cuthbert House, Newcastle. It will be a fabulous event with chocolate treats in huge supply washed down with a lovely cuppa.

All the cakes have been supplied by generous local companies, so the community is really getting behind us. There will also be an amazing raffle with prizes including a free meal at Jesmonds fabulous Firenze and tickets for shows at Metro Radio Arena.

Gail Stonley, House Manager at Crawford House, which supports families of children staying at the Royal Victoria Infirmary added: All the money raised will go towards keeping a family together when they need each other most - so what better excuse to have a chocolate treat and a cup of tea.

Actor Michael Crawford, president of The Sick Childrens Trust said: Many of the families we have helped have explained how swapping stories and sharing worries over a comforting cup of tea has enabled them to draw strength from each other. So I couldnt think of a more appropriate way to raise much-needed funds for our charity.
